Data analysts gather and scrutinise data using specialist tools to generate information that helps others make decisions. They will respond to questions about data and look for trends, patterns and anomalies within it. Typical duties include: using specialist tools to extract the data needed.
Qualifications
While a bachelor's degree is the most common entry-level qualification, some companies look for candidates with a master's degree in data analytics or a related field. A 2017 study by IBM found that six percent of data analyst job descriptions required a master's or doctoral degree.
